Terms of Service
Last updated: September 1, 2026
These terms govern your use of clipchute (https://clipchute.com), a service that turns your long-form videos into short clips and publishes them to the social platforms you connect. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to these terms.
The service
You upload a video, or connect a Google Drive folder, that you have the rights to. clipchute transcribes it, selects highlight moments, renders short clips, schedules them, and publishes them to the social accounts you have connected. Clips publish automatically on your schedule unless you edit or reschedule them first.
Your account
Sign-in is by email link — keep access to your email account secure, since anyone with your email can access your clipchute account. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to subscribe.
Your content
You keep full ownership of everything you upload and every clip we produce from it. You grant clipchute only the license needed to operate the service: to store, transcribe, process, render, and deliver your video to the platforms you tell us to publish to. You are responsible for having the rights to the content you submit, and for that content complying with the rules of each platform it is published to.
Acceptable use
- Only submit content you own or have permission to use.
- No illegal content, malware, spam operations, or content that infringes others' rights.
- No attempts to probe, overload, or work around the service's security or usage limits.
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these rules. If we close your account for a violation, fees already paid for the current period are not refunded.
Plans, billing, and limits
Subscriptions bill monthly through Stripe, our payment processor. Each plan includes a monthly video allowance (Starter 10, Growth 30, Pro 100 videos per month); the allowance resets on the 1st of each month and unused videos do not roll over. We may adjust prices with at least 30 days' notice — changes take effect at your next billing cycle.
Cancellation
Cancel any time from the Settings page in your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep full access until then. No further charges are made after cancellation takes effect.
14-day money-back guarantee
If clipchute isn't for you, email [email protected] within 14 days of your first subscription payment and we will refund that payment in full. The guarantee applies to your first payment on your first subscription — not to renewals or resubscriptions. Refunds are issued to the original payment method through Stripe, typically within 5–10 business days.
Third-party platforms
Publishing depends on the social platforms you connect and on our publishing partner's connection to them. Platforms change their rules and APIs; a platform rejecting, removing, or restricting a published clip is outside clipchute's control.
Service availability and liability
clipchute is provided "as is." We work to keep it fast and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we are not liable for indirect damages such as lost revenue or lost audience. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, we will email the address on your account before they take effect. Continuing to use clipchute after that means you accept the updated terms.
