Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 1, 2026
This policy explains what clipchute (https://clipchute.com) collects, why, and who touches it. Short version: we collect what the product needs to work, we don't sell it, and you can have it deleted.
What we collect
- Account: your email address — it's the whole login.
- Content: videos you upload or link, the transcripts and clips we generate from them, and your scheduling and publishing settings.
- Connections: which social platforms you've connected. The platform login itself happens on our publishing partner's secure page — clipchute never sees those passwords.
- Payments: handled entirely by Stripe. clipchute never sees or stores your card number.
- Technical: standard server logs (IP address, request times) used for security and abuse prevention, including limits on sign-in email requests.
How we use it
To run the product: transcribe and clip your videos, publish to your connected accounts, send sign-in links and service emails, bill your subscription, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your content to advertise to anyone.
Who processes it for us
- Stripe — subscription payments.
- SendGrid — sending sign-in links and service email.
- Modal — cloud compute that transcribes and renders your videos during processing.
- upload-post.com — delivers your clips to the social platforms you connect.
- Cloudflare — sits in front of the site for security and performance.
Each receives only what its job requires.
Cookies
One session cookie, used to keep you signed in and to protect forms from forgery. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Retention and deletion
Your content and account data are kept while your account is active so your clips and history keep working. You can delete your account and its content yourself at any time from Settings (Danger zone), or email [email protected] and we will do it for you; deletion removes it from live systems immediately and ends our access to your Google Drive, and clips already published to your social accounts stay on those platforms under your control there.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email [email protected] and we'll handle it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll email the address on your account before the change takes effect.
